While Chelsea’s 5-2 defeat to PSG left many questioning the club’s direction, Micah Richards has come to a different conclusion, insisting that Liam Rosenior is the man to take them forward.
Chelsea lost their fourth game in 16 under Liam Rosenior with a defeat to PSG, ending a streak of Arsenal being the only side the Blues have lost to.
Malo Gusto questioned the decision of Liam Rosenior not to sit back with the game at 2-2, suggesting that the Blues were too ambitious in their play.
However, there have been clear signs of improvement under Liam Rosenior in terms of the performances of Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez for example, but the defence has arguably gone backwards.
Regardless, Micah Richards has seen enough and believes that Rosenior is the man to take Chelsea forward.

Micah Richards defends the Chelsea mistakes against PSG
Most people took a negative view of what unfolded over in Paris, but Micah Richards actually thinks Chelsea were tactically brilliant (The Rest Is Football).
“Guys, honestly, I think, guys, honestly, I think Rosenior, I think he’s cooking. I think he’s cooking up a storm. I’m telling you now. Honestly, tactically, this guy has got it. I’ve seen everything I need to see.
“The way they build up, Mistakes again, but Sanchez, he probably should have played the other night. Jorgensen comes in, but the way they want to build, once they, if, whatever happening in the goalkeeper situation, if they get an unbelievable number one who’s good on the ball, who knows what he wants to do, I’m telling you, Chelsea, the way they played through PSG and the way they could open up teams, want to play through the middle, then they get it wide and then they’ve got runners from the midfield.
“Enzo, fantastic, Neto was brilliant, João Pedro’s playing some of the best football of his life. Cole Palmer’s now getting involved like the old Cole Palmer we need to see.”

Micah Richards admits Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea do need a couple of tweaks
Joao Pedro and other Chelsea players have given Rosenior their backing, it’s just about settling things down and finding solutions to issues.
However, the most immediate issue is in defence.
“It’s just certain aspects which he needs to tweak for them to be competitive.
“And Al’s completely right. Defensively, it’s sometimes you’re going in, sometimes you’re dropping off. For one of the goals, Hakimi burst through and I think it was Chalobah who went all the way in. It’s like, no, relax, you’ve done the hard part. Everyone’s doing what they’re supposed to do. If you’re going to press, go all the way in.
“But the way Rosenior can pick teams off by his style of play, honestly, I think tactically, he’s got it.
“I think because he came in and it wasn’t a ‘big name’, because he’d come from Strasbourg, people are thinking, he doesn’t… Actually, I see it. I see it. And obviously, it has to be something at the end of that.
“They’ve got to go and win something. You can’t just play good football, but the way they went to Paris and opened them up when Paris was sort of on the ropes, I thought, okay, yeah, I see it.”
