The Denver Broncos have been making a few interesting additions this offseason, with the majority being players the team is re-signing rather than outside additions.
Justin Strnad, Alex Singleton, and J.K. Dobbins are all back on multi-year deals. But that's not all the Broncos have done this offseason. They're also set to re-sign a veteran wide receiver to a one-year deal after their mid-season reunion last year.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Broncos are bringing back wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey for another season.
Broncos to re-sign Lil'Jordan Humphrey
"The Broncos are re-signing WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey, per source," Pelissero reports. "A Sean Payton favorite."
Despite being named "Lil'Jordan," Humphrey is by no means a little receiver. He's 6-foot-4, 225 pounds. He's a big-bodied receiver and has been with Denver, and Sean Payton specifically, for a lot of his career.
Last season, after being acquired mid-season in a waiver claim from the New York Giants, Humphrey played in seven games, putting up 101 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions.
But, in the playoffs, with Pat Bryant dealing with an injury, Hunphrey got some work, hauling in three receptions on eight targets for 38 yards and a touchdown.
More: J.K. Dobbins to re-sign with Broncos on two-year deal
He has been with the Broncos each of the last three seasons, but didn't return right away in 2025, joining the Giants instead. But, as opposed to making the same mistake they did last year, the Broncos are reuniting with Humphrey this offseason on a free agent deal.
He has 926 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 75 receptions in his NFL career. Humphrey hasn't reached 300 yards in a season before, but he's a complementary receiver and someone that Payton has clearly grown fond of.
Humphrey began his career with the New Orleans Saints, playing from 2019 through 2021 with the team. Then, in 2024, he joined the Broncos with Payton, staying with the coach with whom he began his NFL career.
Payton is bringing Humphrey back, as the 6-foot-4 wide receiver is returning to Denver, avoiding the mistake the team made last offseason by letting him walk in free agency.
