Manchester United have the chance to sign some new players this summer
According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United are showing ‘interest’ in AFC Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams. The report adds that his price tag could be around the £30million mark. Liverpool and Chelsea have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
The Red Devils are sat in 3rd place in the Premier League table behind Arsenal and Manchester City. Michael Carrick remain in caretaker charge at Old Trafford. He was named interim boss after their decision to cut ties with Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United keen on AFC Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams
United will need to find a replacement for Casemiro, who is leaving at the end of the season. Adams could be seen as someone to boost their midfield department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth in the middle of the park.
Adams, 27, is under contract at Bournemouth until June 2028 meaning he still has two years left to run on his deal. He has been a key player for the Cherries since his move to Dorset back in 2023. His current club could face a battle to keep hold of him now though amid attention from elsewhere.
The USA international, who has made 52 caps for his country, has the chance to show what he can do on the big stage this summer at the World Cup. He started his career at New York Red Bulls before moving over to Europe as a youngster when RB Leipzig came calling. The New York-born man then switched to Leeds United.
After signing Adams for Bournemouth, their ex-chief executive Neill Blake said at the time: “To have him sign for AFC Bournemouth shows the ambition we have as a club. We're thrilled to have brought Tyler to the club and he is a player we've admired for a long time. It's been widely documented how much his talents have been recognised in this transfer window by other clubs."
He added: "Tyler is an exciting player who possesses plenty of experience for someone that is just 24 years of age and we're looking forward to working with him as he's a player we know will be a great addition to our squad."
