The NFL’s new league year has officially begun which has triggered the first roster movement of the offseason for the New England Patriots.
After beginning the offseason by moving off a pair of veterans who played a key role on and off the field last season in wide receiver Stefon Diggs (release) and center Garrett Bradbury (trade), the Patriots got to work on making additions.
Over the first two days of free agency, New England agreed to terms with four players: edge rusher Dre’Mont Jones, fullback Reggie Gilliam, offensive guard Alijah-Vera Tucker, and wide receiver Romeo Doubs. They later added the likes of safety Kevin Byard, tight end Julian Hill and safety Mike Brown.
The additions project as upgrades across the roster, but work remains to be done for the Patriots, who also saw players like Khyiris Tonga, K’Lavon Chaisson, and Anfernee Jennings among others depart from last year’s Super Bowl squad.
