Philadelphia Eagles: Revise Contract of 3x-Pro Bowler, Delete Final Year

Philadelphia Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson considered retiring this offseason due to his body breaking down from the wear and tear of his career, including a staggering 13 surgeries since high school. The three-time Pro Bowler suffered a meniscus injury in training camp that required surgery while also battling a back injury and an ankle injury during the season. Despite this, he managed to start 16 total games and log 909 offensive snaps. Dickerson ultimately decided to return for his sixth season and recently traveled to Colombia for stem cell treatment in both knees and ankles.

Landon Dickerson currently has three years remaining on his $60 million extension, with $10 million guaranteed, but due to the option-bonus proration, he carries a $42.37 million total cap charge over that span. The 27-year-old is set to earn a $1.215 million base salary, $10 million guaranteed, a $17.635 million option bonus due on September 1, a $150,000 workout bonus, $19 million in cash, and a $10.27 million cap hit in 2026.

Dickerson is set to earn a $1.26 million base salary, an $18.59 million option bonus due on September 1, a $150,000 workout bonus, $20 million in cash, and a $14.04 million cap charge in 2027; and a $1.39 million base salary, a $19.46 million option bonus due on September 1, a $150,000 workout bonus, $21 million in cash, and an $18.06 million cap hit in 2028, per Over The Cap.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Eagles have agreed to a revised two-year contract with Landon Dickerson, worth around $36 million, down from the $39 million in cash he was previously due. Dickerson’s 2026 salary was reduced by $3.3 million to $15.7 million, which he can earn back through incentives, while his cap hit drops from $10.27 million to around $9.6 million. Lastly, both parties have agreed to delete the final year of his contract, making him a free agent in 2028.
