Look: Chiefs free-agent signings show off their new jerseys

On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs set up press conferences for the three big signings made so far in free agency: running back Kenneth Walker, defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga and safety Alohi Gilman.

After each session with reporters, the new Chiefs showed off the jerseys they will now be rocking on the football field.

RB Kenneth Walker — No. 9

Walker will take over the jersey donned by wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster in recent Chiefs’ history. It’s the second running back in Kansas City to rock the single-digit look, following No. 1 Jerick McKinnon.

DT Khyiris Tonga — No. 92

Tonga will fittingly wear No. 92, a jersey that former Chiefs nose tackle Dontari Poe owned during his time anchoring the center of Kansas City’s defense. It was most recently worn by former Chiefs’ nose tackle Derrick Nnadi, who signed with the Indianapolis Colts this week.

S Alohi Gilman — No. 17

After years of wide receivers like Mecole Hardman and Richie James wearing No. 17, it will now be donned by Gilman as he patrols the back end of the Chiefs’ defense.
