The New England Patriots aren't completely shutting the door on a reunion with wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Eliot Wolf, the club's executive vice president of player personnel, admitted as much during his session with local media at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, as shared by WEEI.
"We’re always looking for ways to improve the team, so not gonna say that anything’s final at any position on the roster," Wolf said. "We wish Stefon the best. He was a tremendous player for us all season. I feel like wherever he goes next - if it’s elsewhere, if he comes back here - he’s gonna have a tremendous season."
Diggs, 32, did more than his fair share during his first season with the organization, leading the club in receptions (85), receiving yards (1,013), and first downs (51) in 2025. The Patriots just happened to save eight figures against the cap by releasing him, which was one of many factors that went into that decision.
"Financials, ability, a lot of things go into this," Wolf said. "… we just really appreciate all of his contributions.”
Diggs will look to continue making big money moving forward, but if there isn't much of a market and his former club continues to strike out in trade conversations surrounding clear and obvious upgrades, perhaps there could indeed be a reunion?
