Could Cam Jordan be on his way to Kansas City?

The New Orleans Saints had a busy start to free agency, and with all the excellent additions to the roster, there have also been some tough departures. One player, Cam Jordan, has not officially left the team and remains in free agency, but there is no guarantee he returns.

After a 10.5-season career, Jordan rightfully wants to be paid more than in his last contract, while also being realistic about his age and time left in the NFL. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and for the Saints, it seems like there is hesitancy to do that, which also makes sense. Jordan is 36, and recreating that 2025 production is unlikely, so the Saints do not want to overpay to bring him back. Still, Jordan is a Saints legend, and no matter what, he will be a valuable piece on defense, even if you take away prior bias.

If Jordan does leave in free agency, he is likely to look for a contending team that is interested, and that could be the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kansas City could use Jordan’s help on defense, and even star defensive lineman Chris Jones seems to be recruiting the Saints legend:

People, including myself, may be reading into this, but why would Jones randomly post this? If Jordan were to leave, the Chiefs make sense as a destination, especially if Patrick Mahomes can come back sooner rather than later. It also makes sense for players on the Chiefs roster to recruit Jordan, especially with how strong his ties are to New Orleans.

No matter where he goes, it will be weird to see him in a different jersey.
