FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have officially signed free agent wide receiver Jahan Dotson.
The 25-year-old receiver is a former first-round draft pick, selected by the Washington Commanders 16th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He started 26 games for the Commanders before getting traded to the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2024 offseason.
At the NFL Combine, general manager Ian Cunningham called wide receiver a “premium position.” On Monday, before the start of the new league year, the Falcons released receivers Darnell Mooney and KhaDarel Hodge, creating openings in their receiver room alongside star Drake London. With the addition of Dotson, the Falcons have six wideouts on their roster, but only London and third-year receiver Casey Washington have started games for the team among that group.
In four seasons, Dotson has played in 63 games with 42 starts. He has 121 catches for 1,519 yards and 12 touchdowns during that time. The former Penn State standout ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds at the NFL Combine in 2022, and his athleticism will be welcome in Atlanta.
The NFL's new league year began Wednesday at 4 p.m., meaning teams can now officially sign free agents and finalize trades. Visit our 2026 Free Agency Tracker to stay up to date on the Falcons in free agency.
