The Seattle Seahawks have spent the better part of two days taking care of their restricted free agents, and you can add another one to the “re-signed” list.
Nose tackle Brandon Pili, who was not tendered by Seattle ahead of Wednesday’s deadline, has agreed to a one-year contract worth $2 million.
Pili might have been a healthy scratch for [Seattle’s Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots](/seattle-seahawks-news/162484/seahawks-robbie-ouzts-inactive-elijah-arroyo-active-for-super-bowl-2026), but the former USC Trojan worked his way into Mike Macdonald’s rotation as a run-stuffing defensive lineman. While Pili was waived during final roster cuts, he eventually signed to the active roster via the practice squad after his elevations ran out. Pili appeared in 13 games, recording a career-high 152 defensive snaps played in addition to 42 snaps on special teams. The biggest highlight of Pili’s season was forcing a fumble on a kick return against the Washington Commanders, the first forced fumble (and turnover via fumble) by the Seahawks all season.
As Pili told Field Gulls at the Super Bowl media session in San Jose, it was “devastating” to be waived by the Miami Dolphins in the middle of the 2024 season, but it was a “big confidence boost” to have the Seahawks believe in him and claim him off waivers. Now he’s a Super Bowl champion with a new contract.
