The Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders were going after the same player in free agency.
In the end, though, the $1.215 million signing chose to re-sign with the team he just played for in 2025.
That'd be Adam Prentice, who is returning to the Denver Broncos.
The Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson reported the free agent battle won by the Broncos in a new post on X on Thursday.
Prentice is a fullback, not the most valued commodity in the modern NFL.
But because not a lot of teams use fullbacks, there aren't a ton of them even around to be had.
The Bills, in particular, just lost fullback Reggie Gilliam to the New England Patriots. Clearly, they still wanted to have one, but they couldn't land Prentice.

The Raiders have a lot of changes this offseason, but a reliable fullback couldn't hurt to have around as a rookie QB, presumably Fernando Mendoza, takes the reins of the offense.
Prentice is a 29-year old undrafted player out of South Carolina who measures 6-feet tall and 245 pounds.
He played all 17 games for the Broncos in 2025 and had 10 runs for 44 yards and six catches for 53 yards.
Prentice had played his first four NFL seasons for the New Orleans Saints before joining the Broncos for 2025, and he was part of a Denver team that went to the AFC title game.
Apparently, Prentice wants to take a crack at making it even further this year, dismissing the Bills and Raiders in favor of sticking in Denver.
