Free agency has been going on since the NFL’s legal tampering period started on Monday at noon. We’re now in the second wave of free agency, with a lot of the big contracts already given out this week. The Washington Commanders signed eight players from other teams through yesterday, and have now added one more today. The defense has been getting the majority of the attention in free agency, but Jayden Daniels got a familiar RB today with the signing of former Buccaneer and Sun Devil Rachaad White.
The new league year started yesterday at 4 p.m. ET. The Commanders still have the most available cap space in the NFL($66.3 million), but that number is going down as they continue to add players, and contracts are finalized and entered into the system. They will need to continue signing players at various salary/skill levels, along with their six draft picks for April’s draft. How many players does Washington need to sign today to make the second wave of free agency a success?
