Jets Sign Veteran LB Demario Davis

Shortly after the NFL's negotiating window opened Monday, the Jets agreed to terms on a deal with veteran LB Demario Davis. Davis, a third-round pick of the Jets (No. 77 overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft, returns to the Green & White after an eight-year run with the Saints in New Orleans.

Davis (6-2, 248) started 17 games for the Saints last season, leading New Orleans in stops for an eighth-consecutive campaign while posting 143 tackles. Davis will reunite with Jets HC Aaron Glenn, who was the Saints secondary coach from 2018-20. Prior to the Jets-Saints game in late December, Glenn raved about Davis' leadership.

"He's their Double ," Glenn said. "He is probably one of the best leaders that I've ever been around. Emotionally, man, there are a number of things I can say about that player because of how he carries himself. He's a man of faith. I think he's 37 years old playing that position, man you hardly ever see that. So, nothing but respect for him. I love the player and I love what he brings to the table. I'm sure we'll talk at some point. But, again, he's A1 in my book."
