Report: Chiefs add cornerback help after series of secondary departures

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - After a series of departures hit the Kansas City Chiefs secondary earlier this week, the organization reportedly made an addition on Thursday.

Former Miami Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou is signing with the Chiefs, according to a report from Jordan Schultz.

Kohou missed all of the 2025 season as he recovered from a knee injury but has made 38 career starts over three seasons with the Dolphins.

The 27-year-old played primarily as a slot cornerback during his time in Miami, and had 190 tackles and three interceptions during his first three seasons in the league.

He joined Miami as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M-Commerce following the 2022 NFL Draft.

Kansas City adds Kohou after trading cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams and watching cornerback Jaylen Watson join Los Angeles in free agency. Cornerback Joshua Williams also reportedly signed with the Tennessee Titans, and safety Bryan Cook left for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kohou is the second addition to the secondary for Kansas City in free agency. Monday night, safety Alohi Gilman agreed to a deal, and appeared in Kansas City for a meeting with the media on Thursday.
