Report: Seahawks signing former Packers RB Emanuel Wilson

The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly adding some backfield help after the departure of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III in free agency.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday afternoon the Seahawks are signing former Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson to a one-year deal worth up to $2.1 million.

Wilson, 26, was a productive backup in Green Bay playing behind three-time Pro Bowler Josh Jacobs.

The 5-foot-10, 226-pound running back ran for 496 yards and three TDs on 4.0 yards per carry while making two starts over 17 games last season. He rushed for a career-high 107 yards and two TDs while getting the start in Green Bay’s Week 12 win over Minnesota.

In 2024, Wilson ran for 502 yards and four TDs while averaging 4.9 yards per carry over 17 games. He’s rushed for 1,083 yards and seven TDs on 4.5 yards per carry in 41 games over three pro seasons.

A Charlotte, N.C., native, Wilson went undrafted out NCAA Division-II Fort Valley State in 2023.

Wilson joins a Seahawks running back room that took a major hit when Walker signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency. Seattle is set to running backs Zach Charbonnet, Kenny McIntosh, George Holani and Jacardia Wright. Charbonnet split first-string duties with Walker last season, but is expected to miss time at the start of next season as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered on Jan. 17 in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.
