The Seattle Seahawks have brought in their first running back [since Kenneth Walker left for the Kansas City Chiefs](/seattle-seahawks-free-agency/164188/seahawks-free-agency-2026-super-bowl-mvp-kenneth-walker-kansas-city-chiefs-nfl-news).
Former Green Bay Packers backup back Emanuel Wilson has agreed to a one-year contract with the Seahawks. According to Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth up to $2.1 million.
Wilson was an undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State. He was initially signed by the Denver Broncos, who waived him in a matter of days. Wilson not only found a spot with the Packers, he made the 53-man roster as a rookie. After sparse playing time in 2023, Wilson’s role increased over the past two seasons, recording 998 yards and 7 rushing touchdowns on 228 carries. His career high came last season as a starter for the injured Josh Jacobs, putting a pair of TDs and 107 yards on 28 attempts against the Minnesota Vikings.
His lowlight (and one of the funnier plays of the 2025 NFL season) was also against the Vikings, and hopefully this never happens again.
An important note on this contract is that Wilson was due to be a restricted free agent, but since he was not tendered by the Packers, he became unrestricted. Any non-tendered restricted (or exclusive rights) free agent does not count in the compensatory pick formula when they’re signed by another team.
