The Miami Dolphins continue to build their roster during the 2026 NFL free agency period with depth players who can compete for playing time. On Thursday, the team added another piece to its defensive secondary with the signing of cornerback Marco Wilson.
Wilson joins other free agent signings in the secondary including safety Zayne Anderson, cornerback Alex Austin, cornerback Darrell Baker, and cornerback Lonnie Johnson, Jr.
Wilson is the fourth South Floridian to join the Dolphins this year, following quarterback Malik Willis, linebacker Josh Uche, and wide receiver Tutu Atwell. Wilson was born in Fort Lauderdale and attended American Heritage High School. He played collegiately at the University of Florida before being selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
He spent most of three seasons with the Cardinals, but was waived late in the 2023 season and claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots. He returned to New England in 2024 but was waived during the season and was claimed by the Cincinnati Bengals. His 2025 season with the Bengals was cut short by a hamstring injury.
In five seasons in the NFL, Wilson has appeared in 64 games, starting 37 of them. He has 179 career tackles, along with three forced fumbles, 20 passes defensed, and three interceptions with one touchdown.
He turned 27 at the start of March.
Wilson is the younger brother of cornerback Quincy Wilson, who had a preseason stint with the Dolphins in 2022.
What are the contract details?
There were no reported contract details. Miami has been working primarily with one-year contracts at the veteran minimum for many of the other deals they have made this week. Wilson likley received something similar.
