Jaguars GM provides clarity on Brian Thomas Jr. trade availability

The NFL’s new league year brings a wave of free-agent signings and plenty of phone calls between teams. The main reason for those calls? To find out which players might be available via trade.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have recently found themselves at the center of one notable rumor. Reports have linked 2024 first-round pick Brian Thomas Jr. to potential trade discussions.

The talented wide receiver would almost certainly draw interest around the league. On Thursday, Jaguars general manager James Gladstone offered a quick and direct update on Thomas’ status.

Right now, the Jaguars have no intention of trading Thomas. After making a playoff run, the team appears focused on keeping one of its key offensive weapons.

Thomas, a former LSU standout, experienced a bit of a sophomore slump last season. Even so, he has continued to serve as a reliable target for quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

In 2024, Thomas recorded 87 receptions for 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns. His rookie campaign also earned him Pro Bowl honors.

Fantasy football managers could see a bounce-back season from Thomas in 2026. He and Lawrence will enter their second year under head coach Liam Coen’s offense.

Now the question becomes: Can Thomas deliver a strong third season and put the 2025 struggles—and the trade rumors—behind him?
