The Los Angeles Rams have made some big moves in free agency and have now lost a weapon from the 2025 offense.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced that wide receiver Tutu Atwell will sign a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. The specific terms of the deal have yet to be revealed.

Dolphins are signing former Rams free-agent wide receiver Tutu Atwell to a one-year deal, per source. Atwell is from Miami and now returns home.
Atwell was a deep-ball threat in the 2025 season. The former second-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft averaged 32 yards per reception on 6 receptions, totaling 192 receiving yards.
The wide receiver played in 10 games (starting 4) due to a hamstring injury, both the lowest since his rookie season.
“The vision that we had for what our offense was going to be going into the season, and then what it became organically was very different,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said, via Rams Wire. “Then when we kind of organically figured out this next iteration, where we leaned into a lot of the 13 personnel, that naturally just takes receivers off the grass.”
“I wish I really could have done better, but I always still have a responsibility for what I think is best for our football team.”
Tutu Atwell recorded 1,535 receiving yards and had 5 touchdown catches in his five seasons with the Rams. The receiver was part of the Super Bowl-winning squad that beat the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022.

Tight end Tyler Higbee was mulling retirement after the loss in the NFC Championship game. But after consideration, the player will return for two more seasons, signing a two-year contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams.
With the player returning, it is almost guaranteed the Rams will run more of the 13-man personnel under offensive playcaller Sean McVay.
The tight ends on the squad accounted for 17 of Matthew Stafford‘s 46 touchdown passes and almost a quarter of his passing yards in the 2025 season.
Stafford announced in his MVP acceptance speech that he will return for another season in the NFL. And with the guys from the 2025 season returning, it can be expected that the tight ends will put up similar numbers.

Tutu Atwell will have a homecoming as he returns to his hometown of Miami, Florida. The player credits his playing style to his hometown, calling it a “Miami Thing.”
“I just play with a lot of swag,” Atwell said when joining the Rams. “I feel if you don’t have swag, the game won’t be fun. You’ve got to put your own little swag to it and everything else will come with it.”
“A big part of it is having heart. If you don’t have heart, you probably shouldn’t be playing football… Big hit, I’m going to get up. Any type of hit, I’m going to get back up at the end of the day.”
After starting his career with LA winning a Super Bowl, Tutu Atwell can attempt to win one for his city.
