A change at GM for the Vikings could increase the likelihood they consider trading for Kyler Murray.
After a long day of waiting, Kyler Murray has officially signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

Tom Pelissero broke the news on X.
“Two-time Pro Bowl QB Kyler Murray has signed a one-year contract with the Vikings, his agent tells me and Erik Burkhardt and Ian Rapoport .
The deal includes a no-tag clause. Murray will make $36.8 million this season, with Arizona paying all but the minimum salary.”
Pelissero also added a tidbit about J.J. McCarthy, who many assume will be QB2 at best in 2026.
“The Vikings’ hope is competition will also bring out the best in J.J. McCarthy, who will need to beat out former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray to be QB1 in 2026.”
Minnesota has mentioned multiple times this season that they want to have the best QB room possible. Now, they land the best free agent QB on the market at the league’s minimum salary.
