Perryman was selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft out of Miami and is one of the few players that played in both Los Angeles and San Diego. He moved with the team to the City of Angels after two seasons and was with the Chargers until 2020. Then he joined the AFC West rival Las Vegas Raiders for two seasons and the Houston Texans for the 2023 campaign. He returned to the Chargers for the 2024 season and re-signed with them in 2025.
Perryman has not had the best health, as he has only played in 12 or fewer games in each of the last four seasons. He missed seven games for the Chargers this past season due to a high ankle sprain and a two-game suspension that he served towards the end of the season.
That being said, Perryman is still a very talented linebacker and veteran presence in the locker room that the Chargers want to continue having in the building.
