Giants fans won’t like the direction Maxx Crosby trade chaos is heading

The New York Giants are officially on the come-up under new head coach John Harbaugh, and the last thing this team needs right now is some out-of-literal-nowhere nonsense ruining the energy.

It’s been a productive offseason so far. General manager Joe Schoen has fully committed to giving Harbaugh the smash-mouth roster he wanted when he signed on as head honcho. But sometimes, a team can do everything right, and things still manage to get in the way that are completely out of its control.

Take the otherworldly chaotic Maxx Crosby trade fallout between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens. Giants fans were minding their business, thinking a deal was done to send the quarterback terror to Charm City for two first-round picks. But not so fast, my friend. In an unreal turn of events, the day before the trade could become official, the Ravens pulled out of the deal.

And that complicates things unnecessarily for the G-Men because now Vegas will start looking for another trade partner for the superstar pass-rusher. And Bleacher Report's Alex Kay sees two potential fits in the NFC East, which is an objective nightmare.

Maxx Crosby speculation drops nightmare NFC East scenario for Giants

Which two teams do Giants fans hate the most?

The only correct answer is the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. So naturally, who does Key see potentially winning the Crosby (Round 2) trade sweepstakes? The Eagles and the Cowboys.

The worst part about it is that both teams could modify their trade package to send only one first-rounder to the Raiders instead of the initial two they got from Baltimore. It’s a joke.

Before the trade was ever conceived, the two NFC East afterthoughts were already in the running. Dallas was reportedly the runner-up to the Ravens, but has since changed its tune and is apparently “not expected to re-engage in talks.” But their pass-rushing room is springtime cutting-season thin, and Jerry Jones is known to act... rash.

As for the Iggles, they just lost free agent pass-rusher Jaelen Phillips to the Carolina Panthers on a bonkers four-year, $120 million deal. He was expected to re-sign with Philly, especially after they traded midseason for him last year, but $30 million per season for an edge with 28.0 sacks in five years is borderline insanity.

Which means both NFC East rivals suddenly have a reason to poke around again if Crosby truly ends up back on the trade block.

And if either one of them actually pulls it off, Giants fans will have to watch one of the best pass-rushers in football terrorize Jaxson Dart twice a year. We just got Micah Parsons out of the division. Like c'mon

Thanks, Ravens. Super awesome move to deal in bad faith.
