Hugo Ekitike has revealed that his best memory since joining Liverpool came in a game that the Reds ultimately ended up losing.
Ekitike has been one of the signings of the season in the Premier League, scoring 16 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for his new club.
The first of those goals came on his debut, as Ekitike opened the scoring against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield at Wembley.
The Frenchman opened the scoring, but the game ended in a 2-2 draw, and Palace went on to win on penalties.
Despite the disappointing final outcome of the game, Ekitike said that his appearance at Wembley was his favorite moment yet since moving to England.

“I’m not going to lie, that was the first game that in my head everything was going so fast,” Ekitike said.
“I knew I had defenders behind me, but I knew I could do things quicker than them and it worked.
“Obviously, first game, at Wembley, I think it’s the biggest stadium I’ve ever been to, everything was so big, I couldn’t hear anything when I scored. It’s such a good memory, I think that’s my best memory so far.”
Ekitike was assisted at Wembley by fellow new signing Florian Wirtz, who was also making his first appearance for Liverpool.
Although Ekitike has been a consistent threat for Liverpool ever since his debut goal, that assist for Wirtz was a bit of false dawn for the German, who endured a difficult period during his first few months at the club.

In recent weeks, though, Wirtz has slowly started to show his quality, and in an interview with TNT Sports, Ekitike said that Wirtz is his favorite teammate to play with.
"In this team, I think he's the player I like to play with the most," Ekitike said of Wirtz.
"I like the other players as well, but when you play as a striker and you have a No. 10 that understands football so much and wants to play the same football as you, it makes things easy.
"I told him that if we play together, we're going to do great things. If he gives me the ball, I give it back and things will happen.

"I enjoy playing with him so much, and I know he's a player who can give me so many assists throughout the season. That's good to have a player on this on your side that can make you shine."
