Robert Saleh took a shot at the Jets when discussing his plan for the Titans after being hired as their new head coach

The Tennessee Titans are revamping their defense after hiring head coach Robert Saleh, who is known for his defensive-minded approach. He is bringing in someone he trusts and believes will fit well with the team.

Titans Agree to a Deal With Tony Adams

NFL insider Jordan Schultzreported on Thursday that the Titans are signing safety Tony Adams to a one-year deal.

The New York Jets signed Adams as an undrafted free agent in 2022, while Saleh was serving as the head coach. Over four years, Adams appeared in 53 games for the Jets, starting 36 of them. During this time, he racked up a total of 232 combined tackles and made four interceptions.

Pro Football Focus rated Adams as the 54th-best safety out of 98 last season, ranking him 32nd in coverage, 56th in pass rush and 93rd in run defense.

Saleh is doing a great job of bringing in defenders he’s worked with in the past, and Adams could be one of those players who helps lead the secondary. Salehhad high praise for Adams, going back to 2024, when Adams was in only his second season in the NFL.

“He’s been great,” head coach Robert Saleh said of Adams on Feb. 15, 2024, via Jets. com John Pullano “You have to remember, he’s young. He’s a second-year player. As excited as we are about him, we know he’s going to have some ups and downs. The ups are going to continue to become more and more frequent. He’s a freak athlete. It’s important to him. He’s a tremendous communicator. He has tremendous explosiveness and speed and instincts. I stand by it — I think he’s going to be a fixture here for a while.”

It looks like Saleh will be excited to team up with Adams again, and hopefully, they can work together to lead the Titans back to playing meaningful football this season.

Titans Could Take a Wide Receiver at No. 4

With the key additions the Titans have made on defense this offseason, Tennessee could explore any position group on either side of the ball with the No. 4 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Titans may look to secure a top wide receiver for quarterback Cam Ward, and ESPN’s Field Yatessuggested in a mock draft on Thursday that Tennessee selects Ohio State wide receiver Carnell at No. 4.

“Much of this offseason for Tennessee will be dedicated to improving the supporting cast around second-year quarterback Cam Ward,” Yates wrote. “Signing slot receiver Wan’Dale Robinson was a good start, but adding Tate would further that commitment. He is a sure-handed, nuanced and detailed route runner who averaged over 17 yards per reception during his final college season. Tate is among the most pro-ready prospects and would carve out a significant role in Tennessee from the jump.”

It will be interesting to see which direction the Titans take in the NFL Draft. It will be crucial to consider which position they choose, as they need to add talent. There are plenty of players available who can step in right away and make a significant impact on the team.
