Igor Tudor is set to be in charge of Tottenham against Liverpool despite the humiliation at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
Tottenham Hotspur were torn apart by Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, losing 5-2 at the Metropolitano Stadium to put their dreams of qualifying to the last eight of the Champions League on flames.
Igor Tudor is already facing sack threats after having only replaced Thomas Frank at the helm last month. This is because he has overseen four defeats in as many games in N17, with the North Londoners regressing and getting dragged into a relegation scrap. They now sit just a point above the relegation zone.
The Croatian tactician was slammed for his handling of young goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, who was hooked after making two high-profile errors inside the opening 15 minutes on his Champions League debut for Spurs vs. Atletico Madrid. Several Tottenham players royally underperformed in Madrid, and while the thrashing at the hands of Diego Simeone’s was deemed to be the final nail on Tudor’s time at Spurs, it was confirmed on Wednesday that the Croatian is scheduled to take his press conference on Friday ahead of the trip to Liverpool.

Following the news that Tudor will take his press conference as planned ahead of the upcoming clash with Liverpool, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara expressed his bewilderment with the club’s decision. He feels the trigger should’ve been pulled on the 47-year-old in the early hours of Wednesday morning after the embarrassment at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Champions League.
“I can’t believe he’s not gone. That’s the worrying thing for me. How is there not breaking news that he’s gone?” Jamie O’Hara said on Sky Sports News.
“10 o’clock, 9 am, he should have been out the door. I can’t believe that he’s still there. I cannot believe Tottenham have not come out with a statement.
“This guy cannot be involved with this football club anymore. He can’t be around these players. These players are absolutely gone. The way they played last night says they’ve checked out.
“You have to get rid of him. He can’t be going into the training ground today and taking another session. He’s nowhere near good enough.”

Is the Liverpool game the last chance saloon for Tudor?
Spurs have slid into the relegation chaos, thanks to a lack of consistency, injury problems and squad planning. Tudor, brought in following his reputation as a firefighter manager in his previous roles, has not managed to weave his magic and change the Lilywhites’ fortunes around. He is the first manager in Tottenham’s history to have lost all four of their opening encounters, which reflects on the board’s poor planning and decision-making.
Next up is a trip to Liverpool, before Nottingham Forest visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium the following week in an all-important six-pointer. However, if Tottenham continue their losing run against Liverpool, Tudor may just get the boot and rightly so.
