Possible Bengals draft target Caleb Banks broke foot at NFL Combine

NFL free agency has officially opened, and the [Cincinnati Bengal](/)s have signed edge rusher Boye Mafe, safety Bryan Cook, and defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. There is still so much work to be done, but they’re slowly (very slowly) building a pre-draft roster.

They have the No. 10 overall selection in April’s upcoming draft, and they’re expected to go defense. One defender the Bengals met with at the Combine was reportedly injured at the event and had to have surgery.

Florida defensive tackle Caleb Banks, PFF’s top defensive tackle on their big board, broke his foot at the Combine, [according to Dane Brugler](https://x.com/dpbrugler/status/2032199847789445183?s=51), and he had surgery to repair his fourth metatarsal on Monday.

Banks had a lackluster 2025 season due to injuries, but he was dominant at the Senior Bowl. There haven’t been a ton of mock drafts selecting Banks for the Bengals at No. 10, but with this injury news, it’s possible he could fall out of the first round. If that happens, the Bengals’ landing a defensive tackle of Banks’ dimensions and potential in the second round would be huge.

Stay tuned as this story develops into draft season.
