Cam Skattebo appears to be putting his recruiting hat on for the Giants in free agency.

When NFL free agency kicked off on March 9th, the New York Giants quickly got to work filling voids on the roster. The front office doesn’t seem to be the only ones hard at work, as the players seem to be doing their part as well.

Not long after signing a three-year deal with the Giants, Jermaine Eluemunor cited Jaxson Dart as a key reason for him staying with New York. Now, running back Cam Skattebo is doing his part to bring in new faces.

During his introductory press conference, free agent fullback Patrick Ricard stated Skattebo was a major catalyst in him inking a deal with the Giants.

“I loved watching him last year and I was just thinking to myself, man that guy has a lot of fun,” Ricard said of Skattebo. “I’ve had a couple conversations with him, he was recruiting me to come here…I’m excited to work with him and get to know him more.”

After spending the first nine years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens, Ricard departs to reunite with John Harbaugh and help elevate the Giants in 2026.

Patrick Ricard Striving to be Strong Complement to Cam Skattebo

Building an off-field relationship with Skattebo is not the only thing Ricard has on his mind. The All-Pro fullback is also aiming to help the second-year back expand his game.

Seeing that they both embrace a physical style of play, Ricard thinks he’ll be able to provide a boost alongside Skattebo in the Giants’ backfield.

“It’s going to look like a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns,” Richard said in regards to blocking for Skattebo. “It’s gonna be just physicality all over the place. Just gonna be exactly what the people want to see.”

During his brief time on the field last season, Skattebo proved his smash-mouth style of running can be productive for the Giants. Now with a 6-foot-3, 300-pound fullback leading the way for him, the Giants might have the NFL’s most physical ground attack in 2026.

Pat McAfee Excited to See Patrick Ricard Join Giants’ Offense

Between Skattebo and Dart, the Giants already had a pair of runners who share a similar mindset of doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Now, they have another in-your-face rusher out of the backfield in Ricard joining the fray.

During the March 11th episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” Pat McAfee gave his thoughts on Ricard following suit of many ex-Ravens coming over to the Giants. He is most excited to see the level of physicality New York is going to bring when it comes to running the football.

“That is a crazy signing for John Harbaugh to have Cam Skattebo and Patrick Ricard in the backfield,” McAfee said. “With Jaxson Dart at quarterback who we know will just send it right into your face. This is going to be a tough, physical football team.”
