Knicks owner expects New York to reach 2026 NBA Finals, win championship

James Dolan is looking forward to seeing the Knicks representing the East and winning the franchise's third NBA title this year.

James Dolan has added more pressure to this championship-or-bust NBA season for the New York Knicks.

The Knicks owner expects his team to make it to the NBA Finals this year and eventually win it all.

"We want to get to the Finals," Dolan said, via Vincent Goodwill of ESPN. "And we should win the Finals.

"This is sports and anything can happen. But getting to the Finals, we absolutely got to do."

The Knicks came up short in making it to the Finals last year, losing in six games of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers.

This 2025-26 season has been filled with ups and downs for the Knicks. Under the lead of new head coach Mike Brown, they are currently third in the East with a 42-25 record.

The Knicks haven't won an NBA title since 1973, and Dolan is desperate to see Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and the rest of the group finally bring it home for the New York fanbase.
