Manchester City have the chance to bring in some new faces when the summer window opens up
Arsenal are ‘considering’ an offer for Manchester City-linked Tino Livramento at Newcastle United this summer, according to The Telegraph. The Gunners could provide competition to Pep Guardiola’s side in pursuit of the defender in the next transfer window. He is under contract in the North East until June 2028.
City remain 2nd in the Premier League table. They lost 3-0 away at Real Madrid in the Champions League last time out. Next up is a league trip to West Ham this weekend.
Manchester City face competition from Arsenal for Tino Livramento
Livramento, 23, joined Newcastle back in 2023 and has since become one of their key players. He has made 100 appearances for the Toon Army in all competitions to date, 20 of which have come this season, and he has chipped in with one goal from the back. The Magpies could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line amid attention from elsewhere.
If City landed Livramento ahead of Arsenal, he would give them another option at full-back. He could provide them with more competition and depth in their defensive department. The Londoner likes to get up and down the flank and get involved in attacks.
The England international, who has three caps to his name, rose up through Chelsea’s academy. He was a regular for the Blues at various different youth levels before switching to Southampton. Livramento then went on to play 34 matches for the Saints’ first-team before Newcastle managed to lure him up north and he hasn’t looked back since.
Ex-Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has recently said he is ‘nailed on’ to join City next, as per a report by Football Insider: “Yes, very much so. I think that’s pretty much nailed on as far as I’m aware.
“I heard from somebody the other day. I talked to an agent who said that it’s going to be happening. They did expect that sort of big number around the £70m mark, which is a big number, as we say, breaking the record. But I think he’s the right one for City. I think he’s a talented player, and it helps Newcastle fill the coffers.”
