Golden State Warriors Announce Key Player Could Miss Timberwolves Game

On Friday night, the Golden State Warriors will host the Minnesota Timberwolves in San Francisco.

The Warriors most recently lost to the Chicago Bulls (also at home) by a score of 130-124.

De’Anthony Melton did not play in the game.

For Friday’s game, the Warriors could remain without Melton.

He is listed as questionable on the injury report.

Melton is averaging 13.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 41.4% from the field and 29.8% from three-point range in 35 games this season.

He is in his second season with Golden State.

However, Melton only appeared in six games last year (due to injury).

Before joining the Warriors, Melton had stints with the Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers.

He was the 46th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of USC.

His career averages are 9.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 41.0% from the field and 36.1% from three-point range in 391 games.

In his most recent game (on March 9), Melton put up 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block while shooting 7/16 from the field and 3/6 from three-point range in only 20 minutes of playing time.

When he’s been healthy, the 27-year-old has been a very productive role player for Golden State.
