JJ Redick endorses Luka Doncic for MVP after latest high praise

The Lakers coach believes no one in the NBA is playing better than Luka now.

JJ Redick has reminded everyone how great Luka Doncic has been this season and why the Los Angeles Lakers superstar deserves plenty of attention.

After Doncic dropped the highest scoring night of his Lakers tenure with 51 points to lead the team's 142-130 Thursday win over the Chicago Bulls, Redick kept it straightforward by claiming no other player is better than the Slovenian sensation.

“He’s playing as well as anybody in the NBA right now. It’s probably not being talked about enough. But I’m gonna talk about it,” he told reporters after the game.

Doncic has been on a roll lately for the Lakers.

Leading the NBA in scoring with a 32.5 points average, Doncic has powered Los Angeles' impressive four-game win streak.

Through this positive stretch that allowed the Lakers (41-25) to occupy the No. 3 seed of the Western Conference, he is averaging a massive 40.3 points with 9.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists, shooting over 50 percent from the field (44.6 percent from three).

With how he is performing in the most important stretch of the regular season, Doncic is certainly building a strong case to win his first career league MVP. But the challenge right now is how he can maintain his superb showing to keep the Lakers' momentum rising.

Saturday night will be a huge test for Doncic, as Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets will be in town for their highly anticipated showdown.
