Joelinton tried to give Newcastle United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale an advantage before Lamine Yamal's penalty.
Footage has emerged of Joelinton trying to scuff the penalty spot before Lamine Yamal fired home an undeserved equaliser on Tuesday.
Newcastle United battered Barcelona for large spells and took the lead late on through Harvey Barnes. However, as has often been the case this season, the Magpies failed to hang on.
A moment of madness saw Malick Thiaw’s outstretched leg catch Dani Olmo four minutes into stoppage time. Referee Marco Guida could not wait to point to the spot and offer Barca the advantage ahead of next week’s reverse leg.
Joelinton footage emerges
A clip on social media has emerged from a supporter in the East Stand that shows Joelinton arguing with several Barcelona players. In some pre-penalty mind games, the Brazilian can be seen holding onto the ball.
Joelinton is also shown to walk towards the penalty spot twice. Catalans defender Joao Cancelo shields the spot from being tampered with - suspecting the Toon powerhouse is up to no good.

Ultimately, Yamal calmly dispatched from 12 yards to level the tie - a crushing blow for the Magpies given their dominance. Barca will feel as though they are in a favourable position when lining up at the Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Eddie Howe’s words after Barcelona draw
"I think it is soft but Malick (Thiaw) makes contact,” Eddie Howe said. "We had our shape, there's no way we should concede that goal. We will look at it but I don't want it to override the 93 minutes before that in which we were quality.
"I thought we had enough to score before we did. The game showed we are capable but we know we probably have to give more going to their stadium. We are capable of doing it but we will need to be at our very best.
"It is my job to try and pick them up. We have unfortunately had to do that a few times this season but our strength of character should never be in doubt. We will be ready by the time the next game comes round. We believe in ourselves and our capability and we have shown that today."
