Man Utd learn Eduardo Camavinga price tag, with Ineos now considering move for the new Declan Rice

Midfield is Manchester United’s number one priority in the 2026 summer transfer window, but the targets being considered are constantly changing.

Elliot Anderson was the top target; however, he looks more and more likely to be Manchester City-bound, with financial decisions leaning toward the Etihad.

This has led to Sandro Tonali’s rise on Manchester United’s shortlist, with the Italian an absolute luxury addition and right now probably the best footballer that Ineos could sign in midfield.

But there are alternatives, such as Eduardo Camavinga, who Real Madrid are willing to sell.

IF Elliot Anderson signs for Man City, who would be your TOP PRIORITY midfield alternative?

Eduardo Camavinga is available for transfer this summer with price set

Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto has spoken with Marca this week, revealing that Madrid now considers Camavinga to be ‘transferable’ this summer.

“He’s not untouchable; there are already Premier League clubs interested in him. For now, Real Madrid hasn’t set a price, but it’s clear they don’t want to go below €50 million (£43m).”

This continues the growing narrative around Camavinga, with United reportedly keen on signing the French midfielder in the summer, along with Aurelien Tchouameni.

On the surface of things, Camavinga would be perfect for United, with his quality being top-tier, and he has the potential to be even better.

But he is a player already picking up a lot of injuries, and United will hopefully have learned that Madrid don’t sell until they are happy to lose the player.

Camavinga for £43m is a steal, and there is likely a good reason for that, making it a massive risk for United.

Which of these players do you want to see Man Utd SIGN in 2026?

Manchester United looking at Mateus Fernandes as he seeks an exit

Contrary to Camavinga, West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes is a player on the rise and absolutely on United’s shortlist.

Now, talkSPORT has reported that Fernandes will be seeking to leave West Ham in the summer should they be relegated, not wanting to play in the Championship.

United are mentioned as a suitor for Fernandes, scouting him on occasion, and surely impressed by a talent who is on the cusp of reaching the top level.

Fernandes would be a sensational signing for United this summer, as he has all the qualities needed in midfield and has a striking resemblance to Declan Rice.

The Portuguese midfielder looks and runs like the Arsenal midfielder, but also plays like him with similar intensity, on-ball ability, and defensive brilliance.

United signing Fernandes, the young and hungry option, would be really smart business for the Red Devils, and we would love to see it happen.
