Arsenal are closely tracking the situation of Borussia Dortmund attack Julian Brandt and are considering making a move for him in the summer when he will be a free agent.
The 29-year old joined Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019, and has gone on to make nearly 300 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 56 goals and providing 69 assists.
However, after opening talks with him about a new deal, it has been mutually agreed that his contract which expires at the end of the season, will not be renewed.
Brandt is eyeing a move overseas, with the Premier League his preferred desitination, although there is also interest in him from Italy and Spain.
Should he move to the Emirates there are no guarantees that he would be an automatic starter under Mikel Arteta, especially as his age profile is at the upper end of the current squad.
