Liam Rosenior reveals the ‘hurdle’ that Chelsea must overcome

Liam Rosenior spoke to the media about the importance of bouncing back from setbacks.

**Chelsea**collapsed in the latter stages of their showdown against Paris Saint-Germain in a 5-2 defeat at the Parc des Princes. Filip Jorgensen gave away the ball at the back to **Bradley Barcola**as **Vitinha**was set up to stick a chipped effort into the back of the net. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia came off the bench as a fresh pair of legs, and he scored twice to put the Parisians in a strong position before the trip to London.

The Blues still have plenty to fight for this season even if they bow out of the Champions League as one of the contenders to finish in the top five of the Premier League. But it will be another year of falling off the pace from the top honours in the game, and a team who have repeatedly showed signs of immaturity still have some way to go to prove that they can keep their heads at the highest level.

“We’ve spoken since my first day about reacting positively and staying calm in pressure moments, and that’s why it’s on me. I need us to maintain calm in the moment we have setbacks. A lot of what we did – the intensity of our press, some of our football, the chances we created – was outstanding, but if we don’t overcome this hurdle, we won’t reach our potential. It’s my job to find the answer to it.

“We are very close to being an outstanding team, but we have to overcome this hurdle yesterday to make sure that happens. What we have to do with all the players is look after each other.

*“This is a big test of our character. We have a huge game in two days against Newcastle United. I want to see a real reaction and a resilience about us in the next game.”*
