Liverpool injury news ahead of the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Arne Slot has provided a Liverpool injury update ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds head into the game aiming to bolster their chances of a top-five finish. Arne Slot’s side are sixth in the table but just three points off third spot.

But Liverpool will have to improve after the 1-0 Champions League defeat by Galatasaray. They were without No.1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker for the last-16 first leg loss, with Giorgi Mamardashvili deputising between the posts. Federico Chiesa also did not travel because of illness.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Slot hopes Alisson and Chiesa will be able to train today. The Liverpool head coach said: [Alisson] been with the physios and rehab until now. We are training today so let’s see if he can join the team session. That is something I expect but not 100 per sure yet. I am hopeful.

“He felt something when he passed the ball in one of his muscles. After we checked it, it was so minor, we think it doesn’t have to take very long. If not, expecting him definitely against Galatasaray.

“I expect [Federico] feels better now. We are four days ahead.”

Meanwhile, Slot provided an update on Alexander Isak. The £125 million British record signing has been on the sidelines for the best part of three months with a broken leg suffered in the 2-1 win at Tottenham.

Isak has been making progress but is still to return to team training, according to Slot. “With the rehab team still,” said Slot. “He is not with the team yet.”
