David Moyes has admitted Everton do not have a squad capable of competing on all fronts currently.
This comes on the back of Wayne Rooney’s general criticism of clubs like Everton making changes to their starting XI for FA Cup games.
Moyes was unable to guide the Toffees to much success this season in either the Carabao or FA Cup, with early exits from both competitions.
Is this genuinely realistic…🤔

David Moyes responds after Wayne Rooney’s FA Cup concerns at Everton
Rooney questioned why clubs like Everton rotate heavily for the FA Cup, given they have no European football to compete in.
Speaking at Finch Farm during his pre-Arsenal press conference on Friday, Moyes provided a response regarding Everton’s failings in the cup competitions.

“We’ve done a lot of good things this year and put ourselves in a decent position. We still have something to go for,” said Moyes.
“Would I like to have done much better in the cups? Undoubtedly. But if you’re thinking about this year, we’re probably not a club that is ready to be competitive in all these different areas, whether it be the cups and the league as well.”
The Friedkins are backing Everton financially ahead of what will be their second summer transfer window at the helm.
A lot still needs to be decided, though, with Everton’s transfer plans set to be determined by whether the club can qualify for Europe.
European qualification will unlock increased revenue for Everton, but it will also allow the club to attract a higher calibre of player.
However, being knocked out of the FA Cup at the very first opportunity should not be accepted at Everton.
Gary Neville has urged the FA Cup to increase the prize for winning the trophy, which could well make it more attractive to clubs like the Blues.
Everton were suffering from a lot of injuries in January, but being knocked out in the third round is still hugely disappointing.
