Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III (19) in-game. Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Baltimore Ravens Kylee Surike | Special to PennLive
The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost wide receiver Calvin Austin III to the New York Giants, according to multiple reports. Austin is inking a deal with the Giants that will be for one-year and has a base salary of $1.5 million and 100K guaranteed.
However, Austin’s contract has incentives that could get the deal all the way up to $4.5 million. Still, with a contract like that, Austin will fighting to carve out a role with the Giants rather than be guaranteed one like he had with the Steelers.
Before he entered free agency, Austin switched agents to join Drew Rosenhaus’ agency. Austin had been represented by the United Sports Group since the time he came out of Memphis. Usually, players change agents in order to maximize what they will get on the open market, and Austin seems to have attempted that.
Austin suffered shoulder injury and hamstring injuries that limited him to 14 games in 2025. Overall, Austin had 31 receptions for 372 yards and three touchdowns. His 2024 season was the best season of his career, positing 548 receiving yards across 17 games.
He missed his entire rookie season with a lisfranc injury. In addition to being a receiver, Austin has emerged as a dynamic punt returner for the Steelers.
