**David Moyes believes Everton’s return to Europe will be key to attracting signings.**
Saturday’s trip to Premier League leaders Arsenal sees Moyes’ side sitting five points adrift of the current final Europa League qualification position of fifth place.
But the Blues are just a point behind Brentford in seventh, which is widely expected to be good enough to secure a spot in next season’s Conference League.
Moyes remains hopeful of the club sealing a return to continental football which would strengthen their hand in the transfer market with a higher calibre of targets.
“I said in the summer that I was probably more surprised at the amount of players who didn’t want to come to Everton as the ones who we did get,” admitted Moyes.
“An unbelievable amount of players who I spoke to, tried to get here and I couldn’t get them to come.
“But that’s because of the problematic situation that had been around Everton.
“Also if you want really good players, a lot of them want to be \[playing\] in Europe.
“I might be next year saying. if we did it and we were fortunate enough to do it, ‘My goodness, I can’t believe I was saying that’ because of the workload and what might come with it.
“But I think if we want to try and get the level of players that we’d like to get in the next window and the windows coming up, I think Europe is really important.”
