Borussia Dortmund are reportedly open to selling striker Serhou Guirassy this summer, with Premier League clubs Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United all linked with a potential move for the prolific forward.
Recent reports claim the Bundesliga side could consider offers for the Guinea international as interest in the 30-year-old continues to grow ahead of the next transfer window.
According to transfer reports across Europe, Guirassy is among the players who could depart Borussia Dortmund in the summer as the club evaluates its squad and finances.
The striker joined Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart in 2024 and quickly established himself as one of the most dangerous forwards in German football. He enjoyed an outstanding debut campaign and became a key attacking figure, even breaking club records in European competition.
Reports indicate that Guirassy has a release clause of roughly €50 million (£44m) that can only be triggered by a select group of elite clubs — including ARSENAL, Manchester United and Chelsea.
That clause, combined with his consistent scoring form, has made him a highly attractive option for top teams searching for a proven centre-forward.
His performances over the last two seasons have cemented his reputation as a reliable goalscorer capable of leading the line at the highest level.
Interest from England has been persistent. ARSENAL have reportedly identified Guirassy as a potential addition to strengthen their attacking options, while Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring the situation.
The striker’s release clause has attracted attention because it represents relatively good value in the current market for elite forwards. For clubs struggling for goals, a proven striker available for around €50m could prove tempting.
Chelsea have been linked with several attackers as they continue to rebuild their squad, while United are believed to be assessing options to complement or compete with their current forward line. Arsenal, meanwhile, have long been searching for a consistent central striker to lead Mikel Arteta’s attacking system.
Could Guirassy succeed in the Premier League?
If Guirassy were to move to England, he would arrive with one major advantage: proven elite-level scoring numbers. His performances in the Bundesliga and the Champions League demonstrate his ability to score in big matches and against strong opposition.
Stylistically, Guirassy is a traditional No.9. He is physically strong, dominant in the air and clinical inside the penalty area — traits that historically translate well to the Premier League. His ability to hold up play and finish crosses could make him particularly valuable for teams that rely on wide attacking play.
However, there are potential risks. At 30 years old, Guirassy would not represent a long-term project signing for most clubs. Premier League teams often prioritise younger forwards with resale value, meaning his transfer could be seen more as a short-term solution.
There is also the question of adaptation. While the Bundesliga is competitive, the Premier League’s pace and physicality present unique challenges. Not every prolific scorer in Germany replicates the same numbers in England.
