The date for Liverpool's high-profile FA Cup quarter-final clash against Premier League rivals Manchester City has been confirmed.

Arne Slot's side made it through the last eight of the world's oldest knockout competition after beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 at Molineux last Friday.

But they were handed one of the hardest fixtures imaginable when they were drawn away to Pep Guardiola's side in the quarter-finals.

The date for the fixture has now been confirmed, with the Etihad match set to go ahead on Saturday, April 4, with a 12.45pm kick-off. The game will be televised live by TNT Sports in the UK

The early Saturday start time opens up the door for either side to play a potential Champions League quarter-final fixture on the following Tuesday (April 7), although both teams will have to overcome a first-leg deficit if they are to reach the quarterfinals of that competition.

The Reds went down 1-0 in Galatasaray while City were beaten 3-0 at Real Madrid.

The three other FA Cup quarter-final fixtures have also been confirmed. Chelsea will host Port Vale on Saturday, April 4, with a 5.15pm kick-off, before Southampton entertain Arsenal later that evening at 8pm.

Leeds United will then travel to West Ham for the final qurter-final fixture on Sunday, April 5, with kick-off earmarked for 4.30pm.

Arne Slot will be keen to salvage some silverware from the season after the Reds failed to build a successful defence of their Premier League title.

However, qualification for next season's Champions League remains a top priority, with Liverpool currently sixth in the table.

They will have a golden opportunity to capture another three points when struggling Tottenham Hotspur visit Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
