Senne Lammens has now admitted to Ben Foster that Everton made him feel “really uncomfortable” during the recent 1-0 loss to Manchester United.
A strike from Benjamin Sesko inflicted defeat on David Moyes against his former club at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in February, on a night where Everton put huge amounts of pressure on Lammens from set-piece situations.
The Manchester United No.31 has now spoken on the Fozcast podcast to share how that treatment from the Toffees made him feel.

Senne Lammens opens up on what it feels like to defend set-pieces against Everton
Speaking to Foster – who complimented the Manchester United star for how strong he was up against pressure from Everton in that aforementioned game – the Belgium international said: “Thank you. Yeah, it was probably one of my best games here.
“Yeah, like you said, they tried everything, which I get as well. Like I said, teams are trying everything to get successful at it. And you also see people scoring more and more from corners and set pieces.
“Yeah, it’s really uncomfortable with so many people in front of you, but you also kind of have to trust in yourself and trust the trajectory of the ball, because sometimes you’re so busy with the people around you which makes you not focus on the task at hand, like trying to help out and get to the ball if possible.”

Lammens managed to cope on that occasion, but Everton must continue to adopt these tactics as we doubt every other goalkeeper will fare as well as the Belgian did.
Everton almost signed Senne Lammens to deputise for Jordan Pickford
The Athletic recently revealed that Everton held talks to sign Lammens – who also accused the Toffees of going “over the top” – in 2023 after his contract at Club Brugge had expired.
However, the man born in Zottegem understood he would be playing second fiddle to Jordan Pickford on Merseyside, and ultimately chose to become the starting goalkeeper at Royal Antwerp instead in June 2023.
Just over two years later in September 2025, Lammens sealed an £18.2m move to Manchester United, where he is proving himself to be a fine goalkeeper.
Should Jordan Pickford now be considered one of the world’s best goalkeepers? 🤔

Pickford has also become an elite glovesman at Everton, so the situation worked out well for all parties.
