Justin Jefferson 'trade request' falsely scares Vikings, excites Ravens, Bills fans

To be clear: Justin Jefferson has not requested a trade from the Minnesota Vikings.

There are just more than two million people who have seen a viral post on social media that suggests as much.

This is the post, made to look like it's from an NFL insider:

#Vikings WR Justin Jefferson has requested a trade.

It's not. That account has the word "parody" right in its description.

This is just a fake account created to garner engagement, and it clearly worked.

Jefferson now has a new quarterback, Kyler Murray, and he's likely excited about that.

Other teams' fans quickly got in the comments of the above post before realizing its validity. The Ravens and Bills are two teams in need of WRs that would both love Jefferson.

Sadly, though, they too will realize this isn't real.

Why do posts like these exist in the first place? That's a good question. Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.

If Jefferson actually requested a trade, people like ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport would be posting about it immediately.

No offense to this fake Richard Johnson, but this wouldn't be the kind of information he'd have in the first place.

The Vikings and their star receiver are probably already looking forward to an improved 2026 season, likely with Kyler at the helm.

Nothing to see here.
