Report: Steelers Host TE Khalil Dinkins For Pre-Draft Visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted Penn State TE Khalil Dinkins for a pre-draft visit according to The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo on X. Because he played at Penn State and attended North Allegheny high school, Dinkins is a local prospect and will not count against the Steelers’ 30-visit limit.

The Steelers hosted Penn State TE Khalil Dinkins for a pre-draft visit last week, per source.

At 6-4, 251, he's known more as a blocking TE. Was one of just 6 players (of 319) to participate in every drill at the combine.

North Allegheny grad doesn't count against the 30 total.

The Steelers had an overstocked TE room last season for former OC Arthur Smith’s TE-heavy system. They may not carry four on the roster again like they did last year, but they still need to round out the room after Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington. Jonnu Smith was released ahead of free agency and Connor Heyward agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday.

Dinkins spent all five of his college seasons at Penn State and finished with 37 receptions for 399 yards and seven TDs. His most productive season came in 2025 with 14 receptions for 167 yards and two TDs.

At the combine, Dinkins was one of the rare players to participate in every single drill. At 6042, 251 pounds, Dinkins ran a 4.72-second 40-yard dash, with a 32.5-inch vertical jump, 25 reps on the bench press, and a 4.33-second short shuttle time.
