Ranking 10 Best NFL Free Agents Available After Vikings Sign Kyler Murray

Unsurprisingly, the 2026 NFL free agency period has been extremely chaotic.

There have been a handful of storylines worth discussing this offseason. For starters, the Baltimore Ravens backed out of their trade for Maxx Crosby and then immediately signed Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million deal. The Indianapolis Colts, meanwhile, signed Daniel Jones to a historic two-year extension that's worth up to $100 million. Of course, we can't forget about the Las Vegas Raiders' spending spree. They gave Tyler Linderbaum a three-year, $81 million contract and dropped a combined $76.5 million on linebackers Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker.

On Thursday night, the Minnesota Vikings made arguably the best move of free agency by signing Pro Bowl quarterback Kyler Murray to a one-year, $1.3 million contract. He'll be an immediate upgrade over J.J. McCarthy, make no mistake about it.

Although most of the big-name free agents are off the board, there are still plenty of impact players available heading into this weekend - especially at the wide receiver position.

Here are our picks for the 10 best available free agents:

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers

Packers offensive tackle Rasheed Walker

Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs

49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings

Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker

Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins

Bills edge rusher Joey Bosa

Browns tight end David Njoku

Browns offensive lineman Wyatt Teller

Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel

Kirk Cousins vs. Aaron Rodgers

There's no question Aaron Rodgers had a better 2025 season than Kirk Cousins. The four-time MVP completed 65.7% of his past attempts for 3,322 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

If Rodgers ultimately announces his retirement this offseason, Cousins would be the perfect replacement for him in Pittsburgh. We also can't rule out the Steelers moving on from Rodgers due to all the baggage that comes with him.

All we know for certain is there aren't many starting jobs available for quarterbacks right now. Either Cousins or Rodgers will be left without a seat at the table.
