Chelsea already have a number of deals set to go through in the summer, but Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco looks like being Liam Rosenior’s first signing at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea recruitment team are hard at work ahead of the summer transfer window, working all hours to try and find the best additions to give Liam Rosenior the best possible chance.
Geovany Quenda, Emanuel Emegha, Denner and Dastan Satpaev are already set to join Chelsea in the summer, but more with a view to the future with the latter two.
However, all four of those players were signed before Liam Rosenior took charge at the club, so he’s still searching for his first piece of business.
And it may not be too long before a deal goes through, as Valentin Barco’s links to Chelsea appear to be picking up ahead of speed.

Guillem Balague provides an update on Chelsea’s pursuit of Valentin Barco
Balague gave us an update earlier this week on Barco’s situation, stating that interest in him is starting to pick up ahead of the summer.
“*In England, they were already keeping tabs on him closely: Enzo Maresca had him in mind. Plus, with Liam Rosenior—who helped him shine at Strasbourg—in charge of the team, Barco has another big advocate inside the club.*“
However, it’s gone a step further in a matter of days, as the Spanish journalist took to his X account.
He posted the eyes emoji, followed by this.
“The ship is very close to Chelsea.”
This update comes as no surprise, as Chelsea have always seen Barco as a future Stamford Bridge player.
