Arsenal are said to have increased their interest in RB Leipzig central defender Castello Lukeba as the club start to make preparations for the next transfer window. The French defender has emerged as one of the most promising young defenders in Germany and has now attracted serious attention from the north London side.

Arsenal’s interest in Lukeba also shows the club’s continued focus on building a strong defensive unit under Arteta. The manager has placed significant emphasis on developing a back line capable of playing an aggressive and controlled style.
The current partnership between William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes has become one of the most reliable defensive pairings in England. Even so the club continues to assess long term depth and future options in the position. Adding another young defender with top level experience could strengthen competition within the squad and provide further tactical flexibility.
