Rams still involved in A.J. Brown market after trying to trade for Eagles' All-Pro WR

The Los Angeles Rams are going all-in for the 2026 NFL season. In what might be Matthew Stafford's final season, the Rams are not going to hold back from making moves.

They've already added Trent McDuffie in a blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs, but they might not be done making moves either.

According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Rams, after previously trying to acquire him, are still involved in the A.J. Brown trade market. The Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro WR is a trade target for Sean McVay and Les Snead this offseason.

Rams still involved in AJ Brown trade market

"A.J. Brown trade discussions are not dead," Russini reports. "Last week, I was told the Rams discussed trading for Eagles WR A.J. Brown before dealing for CB Trent McDuffie. Dialogue slowed, but Los Angeles continues to monitor the status of the three-time Pro Bowler with interest. We'll see where both parties go from here."

While this report from Russini doesn't reveal that the Rams are actively trying to trade for Brown, and is just rumor-mill at the moment, it's still noteworthy in the sense that the Rams of all teams are showing interest in Brown.

The Rams already have Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. They don't need to add another wide receiver. But, with Adams and Nacua free agents after the 2026 season, and Brown under contract for a few more seasons, this could make sense as a long-term WR solution.

But, for the Rams to land Brown, the All-Pro and Super Bowl champion WR from the Eagles, they would have to wait until after June 1 due to massive cap constraints for the Eagles with Browns' contract.

Even after waiting until June 1, the Eagles won't just give up Brown. They will need a lot in return, as they've been rumored to be seeking more than just a first-round pick.

Snead and McVay have been using their first-rounders with ease, and sending a 2027 first-rounder to the Eagles to land Brown to go all-in might not be the worst idea.

It's incredibly risky, but with how the Rams are trying harder than ever to win the Super Bowl in 2026, adding someone like Brown would be worth splurging on.

Giving Stafford a wide receiver room with A.J. Brown, Puka Nacua, and Davante Adams might make for the best WR room in NFL history.

Of course, it's all rumors at this point. But that doesn't mean this isn't a fascinating possibility for the Rams. Russini is reporting that such a deal isn't off the table just yet, even if it might be very unlikely.
