Did Josh Allen Change His Jersey Number For 2026 Season?

There are plenty of Buffalo Bills fans panicking about their No. 17 Josh Allen jerseys this Friday - and understandably so.

Allen has been wearing No. 17 ever since the Bills drafted him in 2018. The Wyoming product has exceeded every expectation over the years, earning Pro Bowl honors four times and winning MVP in 2024. He'll enter the 2026 season with 30,102 career passing yards, 4,721 rushing yards and 299 total touchdowns.

So why is Allen trending on social media? The Bills shared which players will have new jersey numbers this fall. One of the photos they posted on social media showed the last name Allen along with No. 11.

Naturally, that post from the Bills had fans questioning if they'll need to purchase a new jersey for next season.

"I just bought Allen 17, why did he change number," a fan wrote on X.

"Seeing that Allen 11 made me audibly gasp," a second fan said.

"Wait whattt? Josh is switching numbers," another fan said.

Despite all the confusion online, Josh Allen has not changed his jersey number for the 2026 season. Bills backup quarterback Kyle Allen is the one who'll be wearing No. 11 this fall.

It's a busy offseason for the Bills.

The Bills made quite the splash in January when they fired head coach Sean McDermott and replaced him with former offensive coordinator Joe Brady.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane upgraded Brady's wide receiver room by acquiring D.J. Moore in a trade with the Chicago Bears. As for his free agency haul, he has already reached agreements with defensive end Bradley Chubb, cornerback Dee Alford and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

We'll see if the Bills can finally exorcise their playoff demons and win the AFC.
