Liam Rosenior comes to realisation after re-watching Chelsea's loss to PSG

Many Chelsea fans will want to forget about the Champions League first leg performance against Paris Saint-Germain, but Liam Rosenior has gone ahead and assessed his team for a second time after re-watching the match.

Liam Rosenior won’t be too harsh on himself or his side after the defeat to PSG, as for 74 minutes the Blues were actually in control and looked like heading for a draw.

But as is often the case with Chelsea, the silly mistakes continue to undo hard work. Just look at the dropped points against Leeds United and Burnley as other examples.

Whether it’s defensive issues, discipline or goalkeeping mistakes, there’s always something.

Despite conceding five goals it is hard to see any positives, but Liam Rosenior has spotted some after re-watching the 90 minute display.

Liam Rosenior realises Filip Jorgensen’s mistake was the downfall

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Newcastle United this weekend, Liam Rosenior opened up on his findings from re-watching the PSG clash.

“We were in a really good place. The last thing you want to do is disrupt the flow of the game.

“I’ve watched the game back, at 2-2, we were in the ascendency. Then we make a mistake… the rest is history.”

Enzo Fernandez could tell how important that one moment was in the game too, sharing his disappointment at the way the game ended.

Liam Rosenior issues an update on Filip Jorgensen’s situation at Chelsea

It seems as if Rosenior is willing to run the risk of further inconsistencies and more mistakes too, implying that he will change his goalkeepers on a game-by-game basis.

“Rob is one of the best goalkeepers in the league. And with Filip, everybody makes mistakes in life and football. I have got no issues or lack of trust with the two goalkeepers I have.

“It is more about my decision for each game”.

It’s turning into a situation where both goalkeepers are going to be lacking in confidence after being dropped and making mistakes, not allowing for either one of them to build consistency.
